Parked our bikes at a Dairy Queen and waited for it to open at 11:00 a.m. Blizzards for elevenses!

Between clinic appointments, walked through the Mayo’s Plummer Library. This is not a museum: staff and students study here.

It’s not my usual travel: I’m in Rochester, Minnesota, guest of the Mayo brothers for two days: labs, scans, and review of options.

We timed our morning run well: the storm came in and the deluge started after we got home.

Pondered a sign as we pedaled the Midtown Greenway towards haircuts.

Cycled to a Nordeast Minneapolis hip spot where we met friends from Portland, Oregon, and planned to get together, down-under, in January.

Walked through the Lyndale Park Peace Garden.

Dug out actual paper maps (as opposed to digital maps) to plan a trip. We bought the maps in 2006.

Dragged my bike up the hill from the Mississippi to Fort Snelling.

Shopped at a place that has always welcomed people like me. 30 years ago LGBT people were refused entry to the USA.

Today, grateful for our first thirty years together.

Cycled past the Guthrie Theater where we will “explore exile, borders and the displacement of peoples” (“Refugia”) this evening.
