Walked along the black sand beach, below, then zig-zagged on the Muliwai Trail to the top of the pali.

Walked abandoned and overgrown roads, roads with barriers and barbed wire. I obeyed kapu signs.

Drippy day today. Glad I walked down into Waipio Valley yesterday.

Today, walked along Kenilworth Trail, Minneapolis. Next time, the ice will be gone, and I’ll be on my bicycle

Today I packed my hiking boots… literally. This is over a third of the weight I’ll carry for the next few weeks.

Wrote about Castles in the Air, and other Brochure-Speak.

Woke in the night and had to stand on the fresh snow in my bare feet and take pictures.

Dropped off toxic waste (fluorescent tubes) and other junk. Our basement is now safer/less unsafe.

Worked this morning. Now “school’s out” through mid April. That’s life, phase 3.

Today: ping-pong ball bazooka. We had a blast.

Thought about Horst Rechelbacher over lunch in cafeteria of Aveda cosmetics factory. (He sold Aveda to Estée Lauder)

Put up the flag on this snowy Presidents Day. Next, I’ll walk in the snow–not many more chances for me this season.
