Walked to lunch with a friend at Bryant-Lake Bowl: excellent, locally sourced food. Yes there really is a theater: it puts on edgy stuff.

Final visit to local pizza joint, Green Mill on Hennepin, pizza of choice for almost 40 years. New restaurant concept wins, memories remain.

Today: British Christmas cake baked by a friend visiting from the UK. Booze-fortified fruit cake, lots of marzipan, icing, evoked memories.

Pulled Christmas crackers containing flimsy paper hats, riddles and cheap plastic toys. A British tradition now available at Target stores.
