As the sun rose, I jogged.

Posted Northern Pacific Bridge Number 9.

Walked around the University of Minnesota with a friend, barging into buildings. We found a display of books that have been banned in some United States correctional facilities. Apparently Annie Proulx is dangerous. Maybe the Physicians’ Desk Reference could be used as a weapon.

Workers were still screwing down the decking as we walked to an island in the Mississippi close to downtown Minneapolis. The bridge had been closed for several months for a thorough restoration. With its reopening, I get back my running route.

On my chilly cycle ride, started hearing “oompah, oompah, …” then a contingent from the University of Minnesota Marching Band appeared. They were warming up their instruments on their way to the 57th Annual Marching Band Indoor Concert at the Northrop.

Started planning a hike with friends through England’s Lake District.

On my walk: an icy Mississippi created an Impressionist scene.

Thanksgiving Day 2018, a good day to celebrate friends and family, and to be grateful. We put fresh cranberries in the stuffing.

Popped next door to Izzy’s for a treat. Their ice cream tubs have RFID tags, so I can check here to see what is being scooped right now.

Explored the University of Minnesota’s East and West Bank (of the Mississippi) campuses with a friend. Walked into buildings that promised to be interesting. In the School of Architecture earnest students were having their work reviewed by their peers.

Walked to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and beyond. Without Words.

Looked between railroad hopper cars. Meticulously sprayed graffiti contributed a splash of blue.

Bought produce for Thanksgiving, grown by Hmong American farmers, at our neighborhood Mill City Farmers Market.

Walked to Orchestra Hall to hear the Minnesota Orchestra.

Began stocking up on ingredients for Thanksgiving, starting with the important stuff: flour and butter for pie crusts.
