Celebrated over grilled cheese sandwiches and beer at Longfellow’s. We had been to my oncologist and agreed to resume drug therapy because my tumor is waking up: the therapy could work for years. As a student, I celebrated poor grades, good grades less so. Grateful for good healthcare.
Category: Gratitude
Grateful for Normal
Grateful for Normal. Cycled to Longfellow Grill for lunch. The vaccines keep on giving.
Grateful for a Restaurant Lunch
I no longer take for granted being able walk into a restaurant and order a ramen bowl. Grateful for lunch at moto-i.
It’s Slippery Out There
It is slippery out there: fell backwards, blanked out, got a concussion, felt really punk. I’m now back home, grateful for the lovely people at Methodist Hospital. This time next year we plan to be far away, in a Southern Hemisphere summer.
Happiness
Cycled over to SiP Coffeebar to pick up a coffee, then sit on a wall overlooking a yard where a sculptor creates. I always chuckle at the Happiness art piece. Ostensibly, this is the “happiest time of the year.” This year we can simply be grateful for what we have.
No Travel This Winter
Cancelled the one winter trip we thought might be possible: a nonstop to Palm Springs. We’ll stay home, playing the hand we’ve been dealt, grateful for our health.
Anime Festival: Night 2
Tonight, night two of our spontaneous anime festival. Grateful for streaming.
New Neighbor
Watched the roof being poured on a new building going up next door. Not visible from anywhere in our apartment, a 41-story condominium tower is rising from this pedestal. We’re grateful we just get to see a swimming pool and landscaped areas on the pedestal.
Final Countdown
Grateful for excellent healthcare, even if it’s a screening colonoscopy.
Minor Inconveniences
Grateful that disruptions to the operation of our household are trivial.
