Today, temperature soared to 18F so walked across Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun. Watched people ski-sailing.

Tonight, at the Guthrie Theater: “Born Yesterday”–corruption in Washington, written 1945, and as fresh as ever.

First beer of 2014. New Year’s Day tradition: walk + lunch. Frigid weather = short walk.

Researched jam-free designs for a LEGO Mindstorms ball dispenser. I’ll be asleep when the ball drops in Times Square.

Library afternoon. Helped people to navigate poorly designed Web forms to find jobs and decent health insurance.

-2 Fahrenheit, and dropping. A good day to stay inside, and do a bunch of work for a client.

Today (hopefully) saved the roof: figured out a heat tape problem. Melt water is now flowing where I want it to flow.

Walked over to Walker Art Center then wrote a blog entry about art for my nephews.

A UK friend and I walked from Minneapolis to St. Paul, following the route of the light rail that will open in 2014.

Our yard this morning, still snowing: definitely a white Christmas. We went for a run on the fresh snow.

Wrote about our traditional tree.

My walk home this afternoon after unplanned Beer with Bob–in town from Oregon. I miss our after-work conversations.

Finally took down the Thanksgiving decorations.

The object of the game was to get as *few* marbles as possible. The boys preferred the game otherwise.

Guilty pleasure with lunch today. Just don’t tell anybody I have this hidden in the freezer.

Weeded last year’s spices to throw or use soon. Time to make Clove/Allspice/Fennel/Caraway Surprise (meat loaf).
