My bike buddy today. I’m in awe of this little guy: he first rode a bicycle without training wheels when he was 2.

Tomorrow, I have my 4-year-old nephew in tow, so today I set up my phone-controlled Lego Mindstorms shooterbot.

Japanese art at Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Homeless under blue tarpaulins: reminds me of a walk in a Tokyo park.

Leaves now falling in earnest. This morning, tried to stay ahead of the game: bagged leaves for city composting.

Icy snow pellets falling on dry leaves played the soundtrack for my Lake of the Isles jog today.

Weeding shelves today. These are keepers–had them 40 years, Still computer science bedrock, still taught in college.

Upgraded my image, with a nudge from Dwight. Threw out all my worn tee shirts and ordered tee shirts made in the USA.

Lunch, today with a good friend at Egg and I. She and I have been getting together every other week for decades.

Today, crossed the Mississippi twelve times with friend following his “Bridges of Hennepin County” bicycle route.

Rainy day. A day for playing loud music, slow-braising lamb and root vegetables, and finally tidying my office.

Trippers in NYC, day 4 of 4. Walked alongside the Hudson River, then an obligatory walk up on the High Line.

Tonight, we go full throttle touristy. Going to “Kinky Boots” on Broadway. Mmm, what do I wear?

Today we walked through Philip Johnson’s lovely Glass House, New Canaan, CT, then took the train back to Manhattan.

Today, 120% tourist in Manhattan. I was privileged to catch Lady Liberty in Times Square checking the money supply.
