A good day to be indoors planning October hikes.

Honored my mother with a “second breakfast” (coffee and a scone). She enjoyed her “second breakfasts.”

Cycled with a friend. The theme: our former workplaces. One office building had been replaced by a chain restaurant.

Paused for coffee in a former Grain Belt keg house.

Today I’m making a batch of stock, so I posted Freakin’ Cheap: Almost Free Homemade Stock.

Stopped at Sebastian Joe’s, Linden Hills, for essential provisions on a walk round three lakes with friends.

Drove a friend to a checkup where the sun never shines.

Prepared for October hikes: plotted trails, created GPS track files, printed 1:25,000 paper maps (as backup).
