Prepared afternoon tea for nephews: Sausage rolls; No-crust sandwiches; Scones; Meringues; Strawberries; Cream 3 ways (cheese, clotted, whipped).

Dwight + electric drill + auger made light work of bulb-planting.

Disposed of old medications including hydrocodone prescribed after my recent surgery. Thankfully I didn’t need or take any.

Walked and cycled on Fall leaves.

Explored University Grove: architect-designed houses owned by university staff on land leased from the University of Minnesota.

Church bells outside a steeple: spotted on our run around Lake of the Isles this morning.

The mist rolled off Lake Superior onto Bluefin Bay where we’ve been staying for the last three nights.

Walked north on the Superior Hiking Trail through a forest of maples towards Cross River, then Temperance River.

Monday: escaped to Naniboujou Lodge for 2 nights, Lake Superior, 30 miles from the Canadian border. No Internet/cell signal/radio/TV/Tr_mp.

Walked in the hills above Duluth.

Today it was time for haircuts. We’ve been going to Emily for haircuts for almost thirty years.

Fall was emerging as a friend and I explored the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis.
