Different Worlds
On my cycle ride, a corner of Lake Street destroyed in the riots, now part art installation, part barbershop offering free haircuts. Later, sipped coffee in an affluent part of town where earnest people chatted about brand ambassadors, directors of success, and talent management.
Boughs and Twigs
Filled our Honda Fit with boughs and twigs.
Thirteen Polling Places
Cycled with a friend to thirteen polling places. Usually we would expect to see long lines, but so many have voted absentee, poll workers sometimes outnumbered voters. People were in a good mood, happy to chat with us.
Masked Haircut
It was time for a haircut, the new normal.

People Still Believe in Society
On my cycle ride, I found these homemade yard signs comforting. They remind me people still believe we’re all in this together.
Zig and Zag
Cycled to St. Paul’s Lake Como with a friend. On the way back, zigged and zagged up a ramp to get to this pedestrian bridge. Once, it must have traversed more than the two rail tracks below.
Indoor Patio

Tele-Checkup
It was time for an annual checkup with my internist via Google Duo. Previously, Dwight took my blood pressure and I cycled to a nearby clinic for labs. A cat favored a spot in front of the camera, occasionally framing the doc’s face between its legs. I embrace the new normal.
Medicare for All
Spotted this while walking with friends. We all agreed with the message but not the medium.
Ice Cream Offsets
Purchased ice cream offsets at the farmers market.
Fading to Grey
On my walk: snow fell and the towers of Downtown slowly faded to grey.
Snow Bunny
On my walk: snow bunny with obligatory carrot.
Not a Day for a Fair-Weather Cyclist
Decided today was not the best day for cycling, with snow falling about one inch per hour. On my walk, I did spot a few cyclists and a shirtless runner.
