Gnarly Minneapolis

No Trespassing!

Normally when I head out on my bike, it’s to a world of lakes, rivers, and wooded areas. Yesterday, I decided to explore a more gritty side of Minneapolis.

Crossing the Mississippi–mind the gaps

Some missing boards had been recently replaced: that made me feel less unwelcome on this active rail bridge.

The Ritz is the current home of Ballet of the Dolls.
Crossing a tributary of the Mississippi near downtown Minneapolis
This abandoned rail bridge has no guard rails, and the gaps between the boards would trap a foot. I kept my eyes firmly on the path.

At the end of my meander, I met up with my friend, Sharon, for a highly caloric “Eggs Commodore.” The ladies at The Egg and I call me “Mr. Commodore.”
