Redwoods and Meadows

Hiked down into Muir Woods and then climbed out the other side of the valley, passing under the giant redwoods. (Yep, that’s me.) Back up top, we had wonderful views of the bay and the Pacific Ocean as we walked across meadows dotted with wildflowers to our home for the next three nights, a replica British pub.

  1. Out of curiosity, Tom, what camera are you using for this trip, and did you have any concerns about losing the trail? We briefly visited the same area as you and decided that we would need to keep the trail in sight for fear of not finding our way back to it – the original meaning of “bewildered” I think!

    1. It’s just my phone, a Pixel 4. We’re on well-marked trails, and we’re just using our phones for navigation. No concerns about losing the trail–you must’ve been on a wilder section–yikes! Most of the time there’s no cell signal, even in the town we’re staying right now (Muir Beach). I’m using the Maps.me app–nearly all the trails are on it and Dwight has been using AllTrails.
