In loco parentis, day 2. The younger nephew was particularly ebullient when we met him after school. His flying backpack survived.
Mom’s Away, How about Pyrotechnics?
Nephew time, Mom’s away. We first used sharp knives to carve pumpkins. Then we cut up an old towel to make wicks to burn vegetable oil.

Cycled to Target’s Downtown flagship store to buy sunscreen. This mural, with its nod to the company’s 1902 Dayton’s origins, caught my eye.
Paddlewheeler to New Orleans
Cycled the Cannon Falls Trail. Spotted this paddlewheeler, docked at Red Wing, en route to New Orleans. It entered service in 2015.
