A Sporting House

November 2017. I look out from our Minneapolis Mill District apartment. Ahead, I see St. Anthony Falls, the only significant waterfall on the Mississippi. A hydroelectric plant, established in 1882, still generates enough power for thousands of homes. Minneapolis grew up around these falls. Across the river I pick out the Pillsbury “A” Mill. A Short Warm-Up

With temperatures soaring into the 40’s it was time for a bike ride. The Grain Belt Beer sign was erected in 1941.

300 Brain Diseases

When I explore our new neighborhood I keep finding new stuff. Today I spotted these paver bricks in a courtyard at the headquarters of the American Academy of Neurology. Bricks name about 300 brain diseases.

Rich Harvest

Walked over to Mill City Farmers Market to stock up on local veggies, pasta, cheese, and bread.

Witch’s Hat

Walked to the highest point in Minneapolis: the foot of the “Witch’s Hat” water tower in Prospect Park.

Target Run

Cycled to Target’s Downtown flagship store to buy sunscreen. This mural, with its nod to the company’s 1902 Dayton’s origins, caught my eye.
