‘Twas on a Monday morning*

It’s Monday morning, time to get to work. My goals for the day are to pack away the Christmas decorations (since it’s Twelfth Night) and hopefully finish the jigsaw puzzle. I’ll also be “a-washing”* four loads of laundry. Meanwhile, “my darling”* has gone to visit his mom for the day, about an hour’s drive away; later, he’ll be “dashing away with the smoothing iron,”* as that is strictly his job. *English folk song.

12th Night 2024

Packed our Christmas decorations into a storage tote. We’ll move the tree (in its mailing tube) and the tote to our storage cage two floors down in a couple days, once we’ve rounded up any stray decorations.

Time to Put Away Ornaments

12th Night: time to put away the ornaments, possibly for the next two years. Covid *may* be sufficiently diminished near the end of this year, making it feasible for us to travel to a Southern Hemisphere summer.

Until Next Year

Tonight is 12th Night. Our Christmas tree waits to go to our “basement”—a storage cage two floors down.

Snow Monster

Sunny winter’s day, a good day to walk on the squeaky sub-zero snow. Spotted a snow monster and a cyclist on the lake.
