Nordeast Hike on Fresh Snow
Urban hike on fresh snow with a friend from the UK. We spent the day exploring postindustrial Nordeast Minneapolis.
Which Direction?
Went for a walk.
Nest Box
On my rainy North Cedar Lake Trail walk today: nest box, ready for occupation by bluebirds or swallows in March.
Grain Train
Walked with a friend: Minneapolis, both sides of the Mississippi, plus close encounter with a grain train.
Trespass Hike
Urban hike in falling snow: 10-mile loop following railroads all the way. Some “No Trespassing” signs were ignored.
Misty Walk
Misty walk with a friend round Lake Nokomis. We made it before the rain started in earnest.
Bus There, Walk Back
Bus to NE edge of Minneapolis. Walked back home through a variety of neighborhoods including postindustrial Nordeast.
North Downs
Another day of hiking the North Downs. Today we only visited one hostelry–for lunch and libation.
Local Beers
North Downs walk with a friend included a pub, brewery, and liquor store/micro-brewery. Local beer procured at each.
