A Former Bank

It was raining when I ran errands, so I walked the Minneapolis Skyway system. It took me through the dramatic lobby of the Westin Hotel. These stairs are a jewel, preserved from the time the building was a bank.

Koke’e State Park Hike

Our hike in Koke’e State Park started with this view of the Napali Coast. We hiked backcountry trails where most of the vegetation is still native. Towards the end it rained, and we hit mud. Hot showers, the washer and dryer, and Dwight’s boot-cleaning skills.

Okolehao Trail

Hiked Kauai’s muddy Okolehao Trail to great views. Some areas in the distance are still off-limits after 50-inches of rain in 24 hours in April 2018 destroyed roads, bridges, and trails. This was the most rain ever recorded in the United States.

Lobby Invasions

It was unusually cold, so it was a good day to walk the Minneapolis Skyways with a friend, and explore lovely old lobbies.

Snowdrifts

Walked in heavy snow to my Wednesday gig. Snowdrifts were surprisingly deep under this overpass.
