On our Sunday morning walk, we spotted furniture set up on the substructure of the 10th Avenue Bridge: unexpected, possibly art, and an expense for the city to remove. This afternoon, we relocated a watercolor from another room and adjusted the placement of these Craftsman pieces. Much like the morning’s installation, our arrangement is essentially decorative.

My science project: optimizing a vent fan
Built a dashboard to compare humidity and temperature in the closet beside our front door to another room. It also displays outside conditions and the status of the closet’s vent fan, providing the data needed to optimize its run times.
Nothing is Better than Anything
Picked up samples for a carpet runner in our hallway. They didn’t resonate: to me they seemed rather blah. Decided one option was to do nothing and leave the floor bare. So often, with stuff or with life, nothing is better than anything.
SORAA Bulbs
Spent all day figuring out light bulbs. Settled on SORAA bulbs with these specs: Power: 7.5W, 9; Color temperature: 2700K (warm); Color Rendering Index: 95% (accurate); Beam: 10°, 25°, 36°, 60°. Incandescents were so much easier.
Selecting Window Sheers
Selected window sheers.
Editing Construction Specifications
Spent much of the weekend reviewing and editing hundreds of construction specifications for our condo. Soon, we’ll be signing off the design.
Condo Task Dependencies
Created a spreadsheet to communicate task dependencies to the developer of our condo. Our tasks to make selections are dependent on the developer completing their tasks. I was tempted to produce a Gantt chart.
Electrical Requirements
After I put together an electrical requirements document for our new condo I had to lie down.
