Temple to Gods of Underwriting

Walked past this Minneapolis landmark built in 1965 for an insurance company. A critic described it as a temple to the gods of underwriting.

Looked behind Cedar-Riverside LRT Station; found this.

Meandered around Minneapolis on my bicycle. Caught up on coffee and calories in the café at Open Book.

Cycled past the Guthrie Theater where we will “explore exile, borders and the displacement of peoples” (“Refugia”) this evening.

Cycled in pursuit of stories. In 1888 the architect of this home patented skyscraper construction concepts, calling them “cloudscrapers.”

Peered through a construction fence at this week’s new arrival: a blue rooster. The renovated Minneapolis Sculpture Garden opens next week.

Took a picture on my cycle ride through Downtown.

Cycled with a friend in search of unique Minneapolis, including Red Cedar Lane, a leafy street of old architect-designed homes.

Carried groceries home past street art created by an artist collective.

Tonight, Minnesota Orchestra.
