Madonna Writhed Here

I’m staying in an idiosyncratic 12-room hotel in the town of Ronda in Andalusia, Spain. My suite fills three floors in a tower: first floor, entrance and bathroom; second floor, sitting room; third floor, bedroom. I’m going to get a lot of exercise tonight.

I’m pretty sure my bed is the same bed Madonna used in her Take a Bow music video from her 1994 album, Bedtime Stories. Part of the video was shot in the hotel.

You must know the scene: it’s the one where she writhes on a bed in her underwear.

[Warning: NSFW below the fold.]

Screen capture from “Take a Bow,” included without permission.

OK, that describes many of her videos. I’m referring to the video where her writhing is tightly cut with shots of the moody, handsome, about-to-be ex-lover in his tight matador pants.

My bed tonight. The one that is two floors away from the bathroom.

Well maybe it has a different headboard and probably one or two new mattresses since 1994. My bed, not the matador.

The matador was filmed in Ronda’s ancient bullring. The operators of the bullring refused to allow Madonna to film there because they believed she would defile the sacred space. The bullring at my previous port of call, Antequera, was happy to take her money.
Maybe the pillow in my room is the one the Material Girl ground into. Or, probably not: I expect the pillow was retired after its ordeal; or it was sold on the black market

At least we know Madge (see “…please don’t call me Madge“) stayed in my hotel, and shot the bedroom scenes here.
