Lyft to North Lykken trailhead, then walked one-way: steep ascent, less steep descent, valley floor walk, steep ascent, steepest descent to downtown Palm Springs. Lunch at Blackbook, dishevelled walk home along city streets past other tourists carrying little shopping bags.
