Walked my bicycle across the pool at the newly restored and reimagined Peavey Plaza, downtown Minneapolis. The pool is one-quarter inch deep, so there’s no need to remove shoes.

Min Hi Line
Pushed my bike alongside railroad tracks, following the route of a proposed cycle path, the Min Hi Line. These tracks once served several flour mills. Just one mill is still operating, producing one million pounds of flour every day.
Convenient Ice Cream
It’s a little too convenient living one block from an excellent ice cream store. “Existential Crunch” (dark brown sugar, Jameson whiskey, creme fraiche, praline pecan, and cashew brittle) topped with a small scoop of “Umeshu Chocolate” (dark chocolate and Japanese plum wine).
Let the Fireworks Begin
Waited on our balcony for the Aquatennial fireworks to start.
Up Next: Fireworks
Watched the riverfront Red, White and Boom fireworks display from our balcony. Over several hours, thousands gathered below.
Ol’ Man River
Cooked chicken and veggies on the grill while… Ol’ man river/That ol’ man river/He don’t say nothing/But he must know something/Cause he just keeps rolling/He keeps rolling along/Rollin’ along. The rest of the lyrics are brutal. Showboat premiered in 1927.
Minnehaha Falls Full Throttle
On a cycle ride with a friend from out of town, paused to admire Minnehaha Falls going full throttle.
Canadian Forest Fires
Watched another dramatic sunset. Unfortunately, the effect is enhanced by smoke from Canadian forest fires.
Ramen Refuel
Cycled a loop through North and Nordeast Minneapolis with a friend visiting from the UK. Refueled with ramen at Tori 44.
Downtown Reflections
Reflections on reflections on my Skyway walk around Downtown, sheltered from the rain.
