North of Cascade Lodge

Walked the Superior Hiking Trail, north of our base at Cascade Lodge.

The Google decided my previous post is more interesting in black and white.

Hiked in Cascade River State Park on Lake Superior’s North Shore.

Cycled to Target’s Downtown flagship store to buy sunscreen. This mural, with its nod to the company’s 1902 Dayton’s origins, caught my eye.

Sought inspiration at Architectural Antiques.

At the end of our run, bought vegetables, bread, and muffins at Mill City Farmers Market.

Wheeled our bikes along a muddy track beside Bassett Creek, past the abandoned Fruen/ConAgra mill, and on to Utepils Brewery and free beer.

Walked past Gold Medal Park on my way to join a friend for a walk.

Cycled in search of statuary. First stop: Goldy Gopher, mascot for the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities campus.
