Walk on a Lake

Walked on Lake of the Isles past an ice fishing house.

Shoveled, then walked on fresh snow.

Downtown Minneapolis, Monday morning, 7:30 a.m., first big snowstorm of season. I should still be in bed.

On this cold day, loaded maps for hikes in a warm place.

My path was blocked by a warming house being set up for the Lake of the Isles rink. There was no skating today.

Mailed my down jacket home: I plan not to wear it again until November. Wandered around Charleston in shirtsleeves.

The plan was to mail my winter jacket home before boarding the train in Washington DC’s Union Station. I think not.

We walked on fresh, melting snow in Central Park, then learned about Cosmic Slop at MoMA.

[Lazy writers insert “Iconic” here] Spoonbridge. Skaters were packing up as I walked past today.
