Minimal Christmas Tree

Stored our minimalistic Christmas tree in a mailing tube. It’s made from naturally fallen Minnesota timber: see post.

Today: British Christmas cake baked by a friend visiting from the UK. Booze-fortified fruit cake, lots of marzipan, icing, evoked memories.

Pulled Christmas crackers containing flimsy paper hats, riddles and cheap plastic toys. A British tradition now available at Target stores.

Rode this seasonally appropriate city bus to Downtown.

Yesterday’s first snowfall inspired me to hang holiday lights today. We won’t switch them on until after Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed marzipan-topped, Armagnac-soaked fruit cake: Christmas cake made by a friend visiting from the UK.

Walked past a sad Christmas tree, then peed in a cup as part of a background check.

Well, the things you learn. Delta flies to the North Pole. (We saw two pilots decorating gate C5.)

Walked past a reminder for the season: yes, the garden hose should be disconnected in this freezing weather.

On the 13th day of Christmas, my true love went to work and I went to LAX where I’m waiting for a flight to Lihu’e.
