First Barbecue of 2023.
Today was our first barbecue of 2023: salmon on a cedar plank. The underside of the board burns, imparting a light, smokey flavor. Cleanup is easy.

River Walk
Walked with a friend who was visiting from the UK. Crossed the Mississippi, still swollen with snowmelt.
Money Machine
On my random cycle ride, the popular Giant Slide at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds was about to get a fresh coat of paint. At $3 per ride, it generates about $600,000 in revenue during the twelve days of the annual fair.
Stuck with Needles
This week I’ve been stuck with needles several times. Decided I may as well have one more stick, a COVID bivalent booster. Rewarded myself with a caramel sundae at DQ. My CDC card is beyond maxed out on both sides.
