Cycled to St. Paul’s Union Depot. Took the train home.
Shared Bikes
Rode shared bikes six times. They’re great for running errands around town.
Finding Former Fire Station 29
Continued searching for former fire stations. We couldn’t find Station 29, but, found a currently operating Station 15. Discovered this building was originally Station 29, but it closed in 1944. Station 15 then relocated to the building. The number change is evident in the photo.
Multiplying Rail Tracks
Walked my bicycle beside a single rail track that became a double track that became a quadruple track. Stopped trespassing before I would be in a large, active rail yard.
Tire Wash
Washed our tires as we cycled alongside the channel between Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska.
Cooling Off
Paid the $1 Senior fare, hung up my bike, cooled off.
Objects Hidden In Plain Sight
Cycled in search of objects, hidden in plain sight, that I’ve missed on previous cycle rides. Found Saturn. This and five other installations by Minneapolis sculptor, Zoran Mojsilov, occupy a small sculpture garden in Camden, North Minneapolis.
East Side Freedom Library
Cycled over to St. Paul’s East Side with a friend to visit another Carnegie Library: East Side Freedom Library. Formerly a public library, this institution is a nonprofit with a mission to “inspire solidarity, advocate for justice and work toward equity for all.”
