On my diverse walk: an art gallery, a gingerbread Hardanger violin, and lefse for later at Norway House; American Indian galleries at All My Relations and the Minneapolis American Indian Center; tonkotsu ramen, and Chinese broccoli (for later) at United Noodles, an Asian supermarket.

Model of Downtown
The Minneapolis skyways were 80 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the streets below, so I walked the skyways. Spotted a model of Downtown in Cesar Pelli’s Wells Fargo Center. For me, the Wells Fargo Center seems outclassed by the restraint of Philip Johnson’s IDS Center.
Icy Paths
Managed to stay upright on icy paths as I walked our jogging route.
Treadmill Fears
It’s beyond freezing out there, so I jogged on a treadmill for the first time in decades. For most of the run I held on for dear life, concerned I’d be launched backwards off the contraption. Then I noticed the clip attached to a cord attached to an emergency Off switch.
Stapled Fragments
On my walk, fragments remained stapled to a University of Minnesota bulletin board.
Empty Lobbies
Walked through empty corporate lobbies while running errands Downtown.
Blue Sky
Blue sky was much appreciated on a slippery Downtown walk with a friend.
Friendly Wave
Air brakes hissed at me, but the brakeman gave me a friendly wave as I walked along an unofficial path across the river from our home.
Indoor Cycle
Most people were at work, a good opportunity to try out our building’s fitness room for the first time. Worked up quite a sweat cycling snowy trails in the Swiss Alps while reading a novel.
Three-Morning Walk
Completed a three-morning walk along University Avenue (connecting Minneapolis and St. Paul) with a friend, pausing at architecturally interesting buildings. Today, our walk along “Asian Main Street” included wonderful Vietnamese pastries.
