Time for Aesthetic Enhancements

Cycled on this functional bridge across I35W at 40th Street. It’s due for widening and “aesthetic enhancements.”

While their bikes were fixed, my nephews ate ice cream and made futile requests for me to buy bells for their bikes.

Explored unfamiliar trails and, from afar, derelict industry. Mississippi barges can no longer reach this facility.

Wry sentiments on my cycle ride today.

6:00 a.m. Target Field Station: boarded Northstar. Cycled back from Coon Rapids, following the Mississippi.

Drove my “new car” to Freewheel Bike then cycled home on my first new bicycle in over 30 years.

Took my nephews cycling in 90 degree weather. We passed hibernating school buses.

Cycled a main drag (Lyndale Avenue) that had been closed to traffic for an “Open Street” event.

Cycled the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail, south of the Cities, through countryside and the occasional small town.
