Brunch in a Former Fire House

Enjoyed a fine brunch in this newly refurbished space. In 1885 this was St. Paul’s first fire house. Last summer, when a friend and I cycled to former St. Paul fire houses, the interior was dilapidated and abandoned.

Bauhaus Brewery

Cycled over to Bauhaus Brewery for dinner with friends. In addition to beer, we were sustained by the best, most tender slow-cooked brisket from a smoker on a trailer.

Revelling in Common Experiences

A friend flew in unexpectedly. Over beer we revelled in common experiences, New Zealand, India, Japan, Australia, making the workplace work, Heinekin at Schiphol, openness to opportunities to be in other worlds.

Target Corp. Mascot

Waited for a friend beside Target Corporation’s Bullseye mascot. My friend arrived on the first post-rush-hour (75 cent senior fare) train.

Eat and Plan

Cycled to a Nordeast Minneapolis hip spot where we met friends from Portland, Oregon, and planned to get together, down-under, in January.

Working for the Money

Handed over £20 notes from a family friend in the UK to my nephews. I made them work to receive the equivalent in dollars.
