Stopped for lunch at Lake Harriet. Bread and Pickle will soon be closing for the season, so all the good beer was gone.

Supermarket Haul
Cycled home from a large Asian supermarket with this haul in my pack. I’m learning to make Japanese tonkotsu pork broth, hence the pig trotters, pork neck bones, and chicken carcasses. If all else fails, we have Japanese Kit Kats.
Hard Times
Waited my turn to buy a coffee to go at worker-owned Hard Times Cafe.
Carrots Two Ways
Deep-fried, melt-in-the-mouth carrot tops, slow-cooked carrots, pasta with basil pesto. Dwight grew the basil from seeds; the carrots are from the local farmers market.
Izzy’s Ice Cream
Posted Izzy’s Ice Cream.
Lake Harriet Pit Stop
Our Wednesday tradition: cycle to the Chain of Lakes, stop at Lake Harriet for a breakfast sandwich and coffee, continue along the Minnehaha Creek, then up the Mississippi to home.
Life’s Good
My breakfast sandwich runneth over at Lake Harriet. Life’s good.
Duckie
Duckie stood guard while we ate grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch beside Lake Harriet.
Bowl and Hashi Rest
Took a photo of our lunch to send to a former colleague of Dwight who had given him the bowls and hashi rests as a retirement gift.
Misfit Zen Moment
My moment of Zen at the end of a cycle ride: sipping a cappuccino, courtesy of the Misfit Coffee truck, Gold Medal Park.
