Chocolate Caramel Superstar, Et Al.

Bought a little something for an intermission in the movie we’ll rent tonight. It’s just a little too convenient having Izzy’s ice cream factory on the next block. I’ll pedal harder tomorrow.

Ramen Refuel

Cycled a loop through North and Nordeast Minneapolis with a friend visiting from the UK. Refueled with ramen at Tori 44.

Breaking a Fast

After a routine fasting glucose test, overcompensated at The Bad Waitress.

A New Ramen Restaurant

“Discovered” Tori 44 in a St. Paul neighborhood. They make their own noodles, which pushed the dish up a notch. I’m slowly collecting places around the Twin Cities serving decent versions of my favorite comfort food.

Crawfish Boil

It was perfect weather for a New Orleans-style crawfish boil at the home of my in-laws. The food was tipped onto the table, and we picked food up with our fingers. The table was covered in plastic, rather than (traditional) newspapers. These days, our newspapers are digital.

Plate Lunch

Enjoyed my favorite type of meal in Hawaii, a plate lunch. Usually there are two scoops of rice, mayo-based macaroni salad, and fish or meat cooked in an Asian style.

Inhaling a Brownie

I ate the brownie in half the time it took to drink the cappuccino.

Japanese Candy

Hovered at the Japanese candy display at United Noodles, an Asian supermarket: one less reason to visit Japan. The KitKats are matcha-flavored, and are rather fine.
