Expressive Harp
Walked to the Target Atrium, Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis to watch Minnesota Orchestra musicians performing 20th century chamber music. I did not know the harp could be so expressive.
Art Deco Stairwell
Wandered around Downtown with a friend. Peered into buildings, including the Art Deco Rand Tower built in 1929.
Snow Falling on Sculpture
On my walk, snow was falling on Gold Medal Park.
Prince-Themed Bicycle
Popped into the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota to see a purple Prince-themed bicycle made locally by bike maker, Erik Noren, for the great-great-granddaughter of the bike pioneer, Ignaz Schwinn.
St. Paul Art Deco
Explored St. Paul’s City Hall and County Courthouse Art Deco building. The lobby is a war memorial. At the base of the huge statue, Vision of Peace, five Native Americans are depicted smoking a peace pipe.
Thighs on Display
Minnesota Vikings fans walked past a naked-dancing-couple sculpture while I walked home with two chicken thighs from Whole Foods in my backpack.
Minneapolis Westin
Wandered through the former downtown Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank building where I once banked. Today it’s a Westin.
Blithe Spirit
Our bedroom window framed the Guthrie Theater as we prepared to walk over for “Blithe Spirit.”
Renditions of a Rabbit
Admired children’s renditions of this bronze rabbit on a traffic signal control cabinet. Children climb on the rabbit, keeping it polished.
